Hello everyone – I warmly welcome you to the DoSplash blog. This blog is a place where I will mainly post announcements, updates about the site, any clarifications about the service or the site and so on.
I will also publish posts that are topical and useful to the audience here.
Since this is a “welcome” post, let me share a bit of the story about this site. I really wanted to start a blogging community from the very early years. I was putting off this thought for quite a while in the fear that I wouldn’t be able to manage such a site with lots of users.
I was afraid that it would take a lot of time to moderate such a site which is based on user generated or user submitted content. As time passed on, the fear was just there and my idea was just behind the walls of this fear.
During December 2012, when I was taking some quiet time to carve out some business plans for the coming year, I also included the launch of a blogging community.
And when I started to write more detailed plans, I made up my mind to give it a shot. Once I convinced myself that I can somehow “manage” such a venture, another thought came in.
There are other blogging communities like Blokube, Blog Interact, Bizsugar and so on. Will they be my competitors? Or will they think that I am their competitor?
Oh well, to be very honest, the owners of the above mentioned sites are my sweet pals who have supported me since the start of my blogging career – in particular, Devesh (Blokube) and Bryan (Blog Interact).
And so I decided to ditch my fears, face them and finally brought my idea to a real world project! And so, DoSplash was born.
As I’ve mentioned in the official launch post at my blog Problogging Success, I had lots of hurdles because the CMS I use at DoSplash is Pligg – not something that someone would love using. And I’m so used to WordPress. So I really had a hard time building this site from scratch.
Luckily I had my “team” handy at my home! Matthew Raj – my hubby’s cousin helped me with site installation and backend management while Chandrasekar, my hubby helped me with all the graphics. This saved me a lot of time and trouble involved in coordinating the team and writing emails back and forth.
And so here you go, the site is launched. Hope you have a good time here. Do enjoy, promote, hang out, make connections and grow your business. I thank you for all your support so far and for the years to come.
